Grove City ties Olivet
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team is 1-1-2 overall after battling Olivet to a 1-1, double-overtime draw at Don Shula Stadium in the second day of action at the John Carroll Classic.
Grove City fell behind 1-0 in the first half but knotted the match on an unassisted goal from sophomore forward Arielle Goyzueta (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) at the 22:43 mark.
Grove City out-shot Olivet (1-3-1) 51-14, including a 14-3 advantage during the two overtime periods. The Wolverines also had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper Keri Ketcham (Fredonia, N.Y./Fredonia) stopped five shots for the Wolverines. Olivet goalkeeper Megan Colby made 31 saves to preserve the tie.
Grove City will visit Allegheny Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
