Allegheny edges Grove City in OT
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped to 2-3 overall Wednesday afternoon with a 1-0 double-overtime setback at Allegheny in non-conference action at Robertson Field.
Allegheny (4-2) broke the scoreless tie at 103:16 when Dayna Rowe scored her first goal of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tiffany Yost (Christiana, Pa./Living Word) stopped six shots for Grove City. Allegheny owned a 24-3 advantage in shots. Each team had five corner kicks.
Allegheny has won each of the last three meetings by a 1-0 score. Grove City defeated Allegheny 1-0 in 2008. The teams battled to a scoreless draw in 2007.
Grove City will host Baldwin-Wallace Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
