Wolverines tie Mount Union

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team recorded its second straight tie Thursday afternoon as the Wolverines rallied for a 1-1 double-overtime draw against visiting Mount Union (5-3-2) in a non-conference match at College Field.

Grove City pulled even at 73:19 when sophomore forward Chelsea Tarolli (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) headed in a cross from senior Cara Colley (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford).

Mount Union took a 1-0 lead at 51:39 on an unassisted goal by Alyssa Flitcraft.

Grove City owned a 25-7 edge in shots, including a 5-0 margin in the two overtime periods. The Wolverines also had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore goalkeeper Tiffany Yost (Christiana, Pa./Living Word Academy) stopped four shots in the second half to preserve the tie for the Wolverines. Mount Union goalkeeper Taryn Vespoint stopped nine shots.

Tarolli, sophomore Sarah Cessar (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and sophomore Michelle Stevens (Phoenixville, Pa./Great Valley) share the team lead in scoring with two goals this year.

Grove City opens Presidents' Athletic Conference play Saturday at Bethany. The match begins at 1 p.m.
