Grove City earns another OT win

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team improved to 6-0-1 overall Monday night by rallying for a 2-1 overtime win at Mount Union in non-conference action at Mount Union Stadium.

Junior forward Chelsea Tarolli (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus) scored the game-winner for Grove City at 94:59, giving the Wolverines their third overtime win in four matches.

Mount Union (4-2) took a 1-0 lead at 14:51 on a goal by Shannon Evans but the Wolverines quickly tied the match as Tarolli assisted a goal from senior midfielder Grace Rieman (Arlington, Va./Homeschooled).

Grove City owned a 23-12 edge in shots while also doubling up Mount Union in corner kicks, 6-3. Sophomore goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) stopped six shots to earn the victory in goal.

Grove City owns a 3-0-1 overtime record this year. The Wolverines are 11-0-1 in their last 12 regular season matches and 4-0-2 in their last six overtime matches. Grove City is also 4-0-1 against members of the Ohio Athletic Conference this year. Grove City's 6-0-1 start is the best for the program since the 2007 team also started 6-0-1.

The Wolverines will host Penn State Behrend Thursday at 4 p.m. in non-conference action.
