Cessar, Heck named ECAC All-Stars

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College senior women's soccer players Sarah Cessar (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and Jessica Heck (Canton, Mich./Plymouth) were named to the 2013 ECAC Division III South All-Star Team when selections were announced Friday night.

Both Cessar and Heck were named to the Second Team.

Cessar started 22 matches this year for the Wolverines (12-9-1 overall) and ranked second on the team in goals (7), assists (6) and total points (20). She also earned both First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference and NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region First Team honors for the second straight year.

Cessar concluded her career with 18 goals and 11 assists in 73 career matches. She made 63 starts over her final three seasons.

Heck was one of just five players to see action in all 23 matches this season, starting 22. She recorded three assists while anchoring a Wolverine defense that produced five shutouts and a 1.26 goals against average. In addition, she earned First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors this season after being named a Second Team honoree in 2012.

Heck finished her career with one goal and five assists in 76 career matches. She made 62 of her 63 starts during her final three seasons.

 Grove City went 50-28-6 over the past four years, making three appearances in the ECAC South Tournament and recording the program's first ever NCAA Tournament win during the 2012 season.
