B-W nips Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting Baldwin-Wallace (4-1) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at College Field.

Grove City (1-4) grabbed a 1-0 lead at 16:02 when senior Becky McManus (Bel Air, Md./Harford Christian) scored an unassisted goal, her first of the season. McManus made her first start of the season Saturday.

Baldwin-Wallace forged a 1-1 tie at the 59:00 mark via an unassisted goal from Lindsey Mikula. Kari Trivisonno's unassisted goal at the 81:45 mark broke the 1-1 tie.

Grove City owned a 13-10 edge in shots. The match featured just four total corner kicks with Grove City recording three. Senior goalkeeper Tiffany Yost (Christiana, Pa./Living Word) recorded three saves for the Wolverines. Emily Tallmadge made six saves for B-W.

Each of Grove City's first five matches has been decided by a 2-1 score. The Wolverines return to action Wednesday night at Penn State Behrend. The non-conference match begins at 7 p.m.
