Wolverines fall to No. 9 Messiah
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team couldn't keep up with No. 9 Messiah on Saturday afternoon, falling to the two-time defending national champions 4-0 at College Field.
Corinne Wulf scored in the 14th minute to give the Falcons an early 1-0 lead while Mackenzie Clapper added a goal in the 32nd minute to make it a 2-0 score at halftime.
Emily Schneider and Nikki Elsaesser both scored late in the second half to extend the Messiah lead.
Junio Kristi Lathrop stopped six shots in goal during the first half while senior Tiffany Yost made three second-half saves.
The Wolverines will play their final non-conference match of 2013 on Wednesday when they travel to Houghton for a 6:00 p.m. match.
