Late goal sinks Grove City
HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Houghton Wednesday night in non-conference action at Burke Field.
Houghton's Atalie Fite scored with one second left in regulation to break a scoreless tie and give the Highlanders (7-1) the victory. Erin Miller assisted Fite's goal.
Houghton collected 15 shots in the match while Grove City (3-6-1) had a dozen. Grove City had a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. Junior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) stopped eight shots for Grove City.
The Wolverines will open their Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Friday afternoon with a 2 p.m. match against visiting Waynesburg.
