Grove City falls at Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at top-seeded Thomas More Friday afternoon in the championship match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Bank of Kentucky Field.
Thomas More (17-1-2) broke a scoreless tie early in the second half when Olivia Huber scored an unassisted goal at 46:49.
Thomas More owned a 16-2 edge in shots and an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks. For second-seeded Grove City (11-9-1), junior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) stopped six shots in goal.
The win gives Thomas More an automatic invitation to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Grove City is now 11-11-4 all-time in the conference tournament.
Grove City will now await a possible Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Championship Tournament invitation.
