Wolverines fall to Penn State Behrend
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 non-conference decision to Penn State Behrend on Tuesday afternoon at College Field.
Grove City (1-4-1) battled with the Lions (6-1) throughout much of the first half but Behrend took a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute when Alex Bilka drew a Wolverine defender out of the box and slotted a ball to Sam Pace at the doorstep for a quick finish past Lathrop.
Pace would double the Lions' lead to 2-0 early in the second half when she headed an Allyson Lonas free kick from the left side just inside the right post.
Senior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) made five saves in goal for the Wolverines.
Grove City returns to action on Saturday, hosting nationally-ranked Carnegie Mellon at 2 p.m.
