Grove City falls in OT
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 double-overtime decision at John Carroll Tuesday night in non-conference play at Don Shula Stadium. John Carroll's Andrea Regrut broke the scoreless tie at 101:46 by scoring her third goal of the 2014 season.
Grove City owned a 22-19 edge in shots, including a 5-2 margin in overtime. The Wolverines also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
For Grove City, senior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) recorded seven saves. John Carroll goalkeeper Haley McDonald stopped 14 shots. John Carroll improved to 6-2-1 overall.
Grove City (1-8-1) opens Presidents' Athletic Conference play Friday night at Waynesburg. The match will begin at 5:30 p.m.
