GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team earned its eight consecutive victory Tuesday afternoon by pulling out a 2-1 win over Saint Vincent in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.

Grove City (9-8-1, 8-0 PAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first nine minutes on goals from freshmen Lindsay Hutton (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) and Katherine Kouzelos (Akron, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian).

Hutton scored her second goal of 2014 at 5:27 after receiving an assist from senior defender Molly Weitzel (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock). Kouzelos doubled the lead at 8:14 when she tallied her fifth goal of the season. Senior forward Sarah Flenniken (Hudson, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) assisted the Kouzelos goal.

Saint Vincent (2-14-1, 2-5-1 PAC) halved the lead at 45:58 on a goal from Emily Johns. However, the Wolverines blanked the Bearcats for the final 44 minutes of the match.

Grove City owned an 11-6 edge in shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Kristi Lathrop (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) played the first half in goal and made two saves. She recorded her 33rd career win. Junior Nicole Lapia (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) played the second half and made one save.
