Grove City falls to Allegheny

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to visiting Allegheny in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at College Field.

Allegheny (1-5) broke a scoreless tie at the 20:30 mark when Niki Augustine scored her first goal of the season after collecting a deflected ball in the right side of the penalty box.

Grove City (3-2-1) owned a 14-5 edge in shots, including a 9-3 advantage in the first half. Each team had six corner kicks. In goal, senior Nicole Lapia (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) stopped four shots for Grove City. Allegheny goalkeeper Tara Lynch also made four saves.

Grove City will visit Carnegie Mellon in non-conference play Friday night at 7 p.m.
