Grove City 1, W&J 1


September 30, 1998--The Grove City College women's soccer team tied Washington & Jefferson College in double-overtime, 1-1, on Wednesday, despite out-shooting the visitors 42-10.

With 10 minutes left before halftime, Lady Wolverine junior Autum Early (Sarver, PA/Freeport) knotted the game at 1-1 with her first goal of the season off a pass from senior Allison Franklin (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern).  The two teams went scoreless for the next 85 minutes, including two 15-minute overtime stanzas.

For PAC tournament seeding purposes, a shootout was held after the second overtime period and won by W&J on a goal by sophomore Brooke Heiser.

The Lady Wolverines, now 2-6-1 overall, play at Westminster College Friday at 4:00 p.m.
