Lady Wolverines Slip, 2-1 BETHANY, WV, October 21, 1999--Two days after clinching the top seed at next week's conference tournament, the Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at PAC-rival Bethany College. Jen Bailey (Simsbury, CT/The Master's School) cut into Bethany's 2-0 lead with a goal off a pass from Sarah St. Clair (Erie, PA/McDowell) late in the first half, but the Lady Wolverines failed to bury any of their 11 second-half shots. GCC out-shot Bethany in the game, 21-15. The Lady Wolverines fell to 8-8-1 overall and 6-2 in the PAC, while Bethany jumped to 9-9, 5-3 in the PAC. |
