Wooster keeps unbeaten streak alive
GROVE CITY, PA, January 26, 2002--The College of Wooster women's swimming and diving team improved to 7-0 on the season Saturday, dealing host Grove City College a 117-109 defeat at the College Pool.
Wooster is expected to place among the top 10 teams in the nation at this year's NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The Scot women have finished in the top 20 at nationals 13 times over the past 17 seasons.
Sophomore Peggy Whitbeck (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) turned in the Lady Wolverines' top performance, placing first in the 200-yard butterfly with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:09.23 Whitbeck added a second-place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.68.
Sophomore Julie Pullin (Munroe Falls, OH/Hawken Upper) contributed second-place points in the 200 backstroke, touching in 2:21.07.
Grove City fell to 3-5 overall.
