Lady Wolverines down B-W, 131-112
GROVE CITY, PA, February 2, 2002--Sophomore Peggy Whitbeck (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) broke her own school record in the 1,000-yard freestyle and posted three first-place finishes as the Grove City Lady Wolverines defeated visiting Baldwin-Wallace, 131-112, at the College Pool.
Whitbeck won the 1,000 free in 10:41.78, breaking the time she set two weeks ago against Washington & Jefferson (10:46.21). She added first-place swims in the 200 individual medley (2:17.78) and 100 butterfly (1:00.62).
Senior Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) touched first in the 100 free with a time of 56.87, while freshmen Sharon Richards (Rockville, MD/Wooton) and Rachel Druschel (Zelienople, PA/Seneca Valley) swept first-place diving points for Grove City. Richards won on the 1-meter board with147.50 points and Druschel placed first in the 3-meter event with158.10 points.
The Lady Wolverines, winners of three of their last four dual meets, improved to 4-5 overall, while Baldwin-Wallace fell to 12-4.
