Grove City downs Bethany in PAC action

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Led by individual double-winners Karen Rodgers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) and Ellen Magee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Homeschooled), the Grove City College women's swimming and diving team recorded a 117-70 triumph over visiting Bethany at Grove City College Pool Tuesday night.

Rodgers won both the 50 free (25.90 seconds) and the 100 butterfly (1:06.31) while Magee prevailed in the 100 (57.48) and 1000 free (11:38.05). Rodgers joined Christine Bare (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff), Amanda Brozenic (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and Carolyn Shaddak (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) on Grove City's winning 200 medley relay.

Bare won the 200 free in 2:02.87 while Shaddak took top honors in the 200 individual medley. Freshman Alexis Zanias (Coplay, Pa./Lehigh Valley Christian) won the 1-meter diving competition. 

Grove City is now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Bethany fell to 0-2, 0-1 in the league.
