Grove City women place 2nd at Sprint Invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team took second out of three teams Friday night in the Grove City College Sprint Invitational. The Wolverines accumulated 447 points, trailing only NCAA Division II Gannon, which had 550.5 points. Edinboro took third with 337.5.

Junior Ellen Magee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Homeschooled) earned Grove City's lone win Friday night by taking top honors in the 200 individual medley. Magee posted a time of 2:18.40 in earning the victory. She also took second in the 100 butterfly (1:05.44) and third in the 100 free (56.14).

Junior Jaclyn Bellissimo (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) took fourth in the 100 free in 56.45 seconds while senior Jacquie Adlam (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) took fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.04.

Bellissimo, Magee, junior Amanda Brozenic (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and freshman Christie Hebda (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) took second in the 200 freestyle relay with a mark of 1:43.46.

Grove City will host the Grove City Distance Invitational Saturday.
