Grove City improves to 2-1 with win at Bethany
BETHANY, W. Va. -- Junior Amanda Brozenic (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) and sophomore Virginia Larsen (Seattle, Wash./Tacoma Baptist) each picked up a pair of wins Tuesday night as the Grove City College women's swimming and diving team (2-1, 1-0) opened Presidents' Athletic Conference competition with a 120-83 win over host Bethany at Hummel Field House.
Brozenic won the 200 individual medley (2:24.41) and joined Larsen, freshman Amy Brown (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills) and freshman Christie Hebda (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) on Grove City's victorious 200 medley relay team (2:02.64).
Larsen, meanwhile, won the 200 free with a time of 2:16.77. Senior Emily Bolek (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) won the 1000 in 12:01.86 while freshman Ellen Keefer (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) won the 100 butterfly in 1:10.46. Junior Ellen Magee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Homeschooled) took the 100 back in 1:10.46 while classmate Jaclyn Bellissimo (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) won the 500 in 5:34.72.
Grove City will host Hiram Saturday at 1 p.m. in a dual meet.
