Westminster defeats Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team fell to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference with a 123-90 loss to PAC rival Westminster Tuesday night at the Grove City College Pool.

Senior Christine Bare (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) won the 1650 in a time of 18 minutes, 50.41 seconds while sophomore diver Laura Peluso (Lynnfield, Mass./Lexington Christian) won the 1-meter diving competition with 98.55 points.

Bare also finished second in the 500 with a time of 5:33.11. Senior Karen Rodgers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) took second in the 200 butterfly in 2:20.85 while junior Ellen Magee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Homeschooled) earned second in the 200 individual medley with a mark of 2:18.40. Freshman Christie Hebda (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) took second in the 50 free (25.95).

Grove City will meet NCAA Division II representatives California University of Pennsylvania and Salem International (W. Va.) Friday evening in a double-dual at California, starting at 5 p.m.
