Wolverines split double-dual
CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team split a double-dual meet Friday night against a pair of NCAA Division II institutions. Grove City (4-4) earned a 68-27 win over Salem International (W. Va.) but dropped a 55-39 decision to host California University of Pennsylvania.
Senior distance ace Christine Bare (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) earned a pair of wins for the Wolverines. Bare won the 1650 in 11 minutes, 10.78 seconds, then won the 500 in 5:23.39.
Junior Amanda Brozenic (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.92. Senior Karen Rodgers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) earned a pair of second-place finishes, taking runner-up honors in the 200 free (2:03.84) and 100 fly (1:07.18).
Grove City will look to secure its third straight winning season Saturday in the dual-meet finale at home against Penn State Behrend.
