Grove City wraps up winning season
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the dual meet portion of the 2004-2005 schedule Saturday afternoon with a 110-90 win over Penn State Behrend at Grove City College Pool. Grove City finishes 5-4 in dual-meet competition, clinching the program's third straight winning season.
Senior Christine Bare (Camp Hill, Pa./Cedar Cliff) and sophomore diver Emily Hays (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) each earned a pair of wins for Grove City. Bare won the 200 individual medley in 2:21.68, then won the 500 free in 5:25.07.
Hays, meanwhile, swept the diving events for the Wolverines. Hays won the 1-meter competition with 184.90 points, then earned the 3-meter win with 188.30 points.
Junior Amanda Brozenic (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) won the 50 free in 26.82 seconds while senior Karen Rodgers (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) won the 100 free in 57.12.
Grove City will host the Grove City Invitational and Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Feb. 10-12.
