Grove City tops Frostburg State
FROSTBURG, Md. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team evened its record at 1-1 Friday with a 121-85 victory over host Frostburg State in non-conference action.
Grove City produced a pair of double-winners. Freshman Whitney Fairchild (Corry, Pa./Corry) won the 200 free in 2 minutes, 22.26 seconds, then won the 100 free in 1:04.61. Senior Jaclyn Bellissimo (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) won the 200 individual medley in 2:46.64, then captured the 400 free in 4:55.01.
Also for Grove City, senior Ellen Magee (Cincinnati, Ohio/Homeschooled) won the 50 free in 29.97 while freshman Kiersten Bower (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) won the 100 butterfly in 1:10.51. Freshman Alyse Brannon (Purcellville, Va./Homeschooled) won the 100 backstroke in 1:13.88.
Grove City will return to action Dec. 2-3 as the Wolverines host the Longnecker Invitational.
