Grove City tops Frostburg State, Saint Vincent

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team earned a pair of home wins Friday night in a double dual in the Grove City College Pool. Grove City (3-1) picked up a 71-44 win over Frostburg State and an 80-40 triumph over Saint Vincent.

Freshman Jane Wilson (Newberg, Ore./Veritas School) recorded a pair of individual victories for Grove City. Wilson won the 100 free in 54.41 seconds, then won the 100 butterfly in 1:04.12.

Junior Ellen Keefer (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville) won the 200 free in 2:03.30 while sophomore Kiersten Bower (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:24.76. Sophomore Whitney Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) touched first in the 200 breaststroke (2:40.46).

Bower, Keefer, sophomore Alyse Brannon (Purcellville, Va./Homeschooled) and sophomore Liza McRuer (Irvine, Calif./University) opened Friday night's action by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:59.64.

Grove City will face Case Western, Kenyon and Washington & Jefferson in a quadrangular Saturday afternoon at Kenyon. The meet starts at 1 p.m.
