Wolverines sweep Kenyon Quad

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team improved to 6-0 overall Saturday by sweeping a quad meet at Kenyon College. Grove City earned a 194-101 win over Case Western. The Wolverines also decisioned Kenyon 169-118 and picked up a 171-128 victory over Washington & Jefferson.

Freshman Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) earned a pair of individual victories in the meet for Grove City. Palumbo won the 50 free in 25.17 seconds, then won the 100 free in 54.56.

Sophomore Jenna Richert (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) won the 1000 in 11:01.66. Palumbo, freshman Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College), junior Lauren Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) and junior Sarah Page (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) closed the meet by winning the 200 free relay in 1:39.97.

Ryan added a runner-up finish in the 200 free (1:57.24) while Page finished runner-up in the 50 free (25.49). Freshman Kaitlin Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) finished second in the 500 with a time of 5:25.04. Sophomore Bethany Johnson (Huntingon Valley, Pa./Calvary Christian) placed second in 3-meter diving with 208.95 points.

Grove City will visit Chatham Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet.
