Grove City improves to 7-0

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team improved to 7-0 overall and 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tuesday night with a 132-97 victory over host Chatham in dual-meet action at the Chatham Center.

Six Grove City performers earned individual wins Tuesday night. Sophomore Jenna Richert (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) won the 200 free in 1 minute 58.38 seconds while freshman Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) took first in the 50 free (25.06).

Freshman Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College) won the 200 individual medley in 2:16.09 and classmate Kaitlin Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) captured the 200 butterfly (2:16.78).

Junior Lauren Baur (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) won the 100 free (55.99) while sophomore Bethany Johnson (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Calvary Christian) took first in 1-meter diving with 201.65 points. Richert also touched first in the 500 (5:25.39) as an exhibition performer. Junior Sarah Bargery (Springfield, Va./Homeschooled) touched first in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.75) on an exhibition basis.

Ryan, Riesmeyer, Palumbo and sophomore Kate Wilt (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in 4:06.04.

Grove City will host the Longnecker Invitational December 4-5.
