Four Grove City swimmers earn All-America

MINNEAPOLIS -- Four members of the Grove City College women's swimming and diving team earned NCAA Division III All-America honors Wednesday night during the opening night of the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota.

Grove City's 200 medley relay quartet of freshman Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College), freshman Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity), freshman Kaitlin Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and junior Sarah Page (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) placed 16th in that event with a time of 1 minute, 48.51 seconds.

By placing in the top 16, each of the four swimmers earns All-America distinction. It is the first All-America citation for each of the four relay members.

Grove City qualified for the consolation final by earning 16th in the morning preliminaries with a time of 1:48.03.

Denison won the national title in that event with a cumulative time of 1:41.92.
