Grove City sweeps Case, Kenyon
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team raised its overall record to 4-1 Saturday afternoon by sweeping a tri-match with non-conference foes Case Western Reserve and Kenyon at the James E. Longnecker Pool. Grove City earned a 196-97 win over Case and a 164-128 decision over Kenyon.
Grove City opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay as the quartet of sophomore Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College), junior Kate Wilt (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte), sophomore Kaitlin Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) and sophomore Angela Palumbo (Washington, Pa./Trinity) posted a winning time of 1 minute, 51.48 seconds.
Ryan also won the 200 free with a time of 1:58.49 while Riesmeyer prevailed in the 200 butterfly (2:09.34). Palumbo won the 50 free with a time of 24.68 seconds.
Junior Rachel Weeber (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) swept the diving events for Grove City. She won 1-meter diving with 194.35 points. Weeber then won 3-meter diving with 183.45 points.
Grove City will host its annual Winter Invitational December 3-4.
