Grove City hosting Invitational
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team is in sixth place after the first day of action at the 14th annual Grove City Winter Invitational in James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. The Wolverines have 116 points. California University of Pennsylvania is in first with 292 points.
Two Grove City divers posted top-five finishes in 1-meter diving Friday night. Junior Rachel Weeber (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) took fourth with 193.85 points and senior Stephanie McNeill (Lake Jackson, Texas/Brazoswood) earned fifth in a score of 191.40.
Sophomore Emily Franz (Fort Myers, Fla./Homeschooled), freshman Janele Baglia (Grove City, Pa./Grove City), senior Tiffani Douglas (Sayre, Pa./Homeschooled) and sophomore Olivia Forish (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) took seventh in the 200 free relay with a time of 1 minute, 42.48 seconds.
Forish, Baglia, freshman Kaley Hess (Reamstown, Pa./Cocalico) and sophomore Kaitlin Yeatts (Charlotte, N.C./Homeschooled) placed 10th in the 400 medley relay (4:21.69). Yeatts took 10th in the 500 (5:37.49).
Action resumes Saturday at 10 a.m.
