Grove City hands Wooster second loss

WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team picked up its seventh victory of the 2010-11 season Saturday afternoon by earning a 165.5-134.5 victory over host Wooster (8-2) in a non-conference dual meet.

Sophomore Jenny Ryan (State College, Pa./State College) paced Grove City (7-3) by earning three individual wins. She won the 1000 in 10 minutes, 58.93 seconds and then took the 200 back in 2:15.70. Ryan then took top honors in the 200 individual medley with a winning time of 2:14.31.

Junior Kate Wilt (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) swept the breaststroke for Grove City. She won the 100 breaststroke in 1:12.23 and then took the 200 in 2:32.44.

Junior Jenna Richert (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) won the 50 free in 25.73 while senior Sarah Page (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) took the 100 free in 55.30. Sophomore Kaitlin Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) won the 500 in 5:24.29. Page, Richert, sophomore Natalie Keibler (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and freshman Janele Baglia (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) closed the meet by winning the 200 free relay in 1:41.21.

Junior Rachel Weeber (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) won 3-meter diving with a score of 189.50 points.

Grove City will host Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Westminster Wednesday at 6 p.m.
