Wolverines 4th at Kenyon
GAMBIER, Ohio – The Grove City
College women’s swimming and diving team is in fourth place at the six-team
Kenyon College Total Performance Invitational. The Wolverines have earned 205
team points through the conclusion of Friday’s competition.
Penn leads the team standings with
688, followed by Kenyon with 578. Bowling Green is third with 474. Davidson and
Carnegie Mellon are tied for fifth with 197 points.
Junior Angela Palumbo (Washington,
Pa./Trinity) helped pace Grove City with a pair of third-place finishes. She
took third in the 200 free with a time of 1 minute, 53.10 seconds. Palumbo then
took third in the 50 free with a time of 23.85 seconds.
Junior Kait Riesmeyer (McMurray,
Pa./Peters Township) earned fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.30).
Riesmeyer, Palumbo, junior Jenny Ryan
(State College, Pa./State College) and junior Emily Franz (Fort Myers,
Fla./Homeschooled) earned fourth in the 200 free relay (1:36.31).
Riesmeyer, Palumbo, freshman Lauren
Cassano (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and sophomore Kaley Hess (Reamstown,
Pa./Cocalico) closed the session with a sixth-place finish in the 400 medley
relay (3:57.46).
Thursday night, Riesmeyer, senior
Jenna Richert (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley), Ryan and Palumbo took third in the
800 free relay with a 7:31.74 clocking.
