Grove City 4th at Winter Invite

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team is in fourth place after the first night of action at the Wolverines' own Winter Invitational in the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. Grove City collected 129 points Friday night. Washington & Jefferson leads the field with 389 points, followed by Misericordia (324) and East Stroudsburg (242).

Grove City's diving corps helped lead the Wolverines Friday night. Senior Rachel Weeber (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) earned fourth in 3-meter diving with 174.5 points and junior Moriah Ujano (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain) placed fifth on the high board with 154.00 points.

Grove City captured sixth place in each of the two relay events held during the session. Freshman Emily Swanson (Wattsburg, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep), freshman Faith Gregorchik (Hendersonville, N.C./Hendersonville), senior Larissa Cassano (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and sophomore Sarah Nosal (Austin, Texas/Westwood) took sixth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:21.95.

Swanson, Nosal, freshman Liv Beckner (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) and senior Caroline Simmons (Edinboro, Pa./Saucon Valley) took sixth in the 200 free relay (1:46.16).

Saturday's action beginst at 10 a.m.
