Grove City tops Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday with a 148-113 victory over host Saint Vincent at Resnik Pool.

Sophomore Keegan Reed (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) led Grove City by earning three individual victories. She won the 100 breaststroke in 1 minute, 13.14 seconds, then captured the 500 free in 5:36.62. Reed completed her day by winning the 400 individual medley in 4:53.90.

Senior Kait Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) swept the butterfly for the Wolverines. She won the 100 fly in 1:00.23 and took the 200 butterfly in 2:14.30.

Sophomore Liv Beckner (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) opened the meet by winning the 1000 in 11:41.27 while senior Olivia Forish (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) captured the 100 back (1:05.51). Sophomore Lauren Cassano (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) won the 200 free in 2:01.60.

Riesmeyer, Cassano, junior Janele Baglia (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) and sophomore Amy Melnik (Clifton Park, N.Y./Homeschooled) closed the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:43.22.

Grove City will visit Carnegie Mellon next Saturday at 1 p.m. in non-conference action.
