Grove City tops SVC

LATROBE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team opened its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Saturday afternoon by picking up a 139-123 win at Saint Vincent in the Carey Center.

Sophomore Megan Bilko (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) captured three individual wins for Grove City. She won the 1650 in 18 minutes, 10.43 seconds before taking the 200 butterfly in 2:17.75. Bilko then won the 500 in a winning time of 5:18.61.

Freshman Megan Smith (Tyler, Texas/Kolbe Academy) won both the 200 free (2:00.55) and 200 breaststroke (2:35.08) while junior Lauren Cassano (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) prevailed in the 100 backstroke (1:02.14) and 200 individual medley (2:19.89).

Senior Kaley Hess (Reamstown, Pa./Cocalico) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.02. Bilko, Cassano, freshman Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and junior Amy Melnik (Clifton Park, N.Y./Homeschooled) closed the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:42.35.

Grove City (2-0, 1-0 PAC) will host Carnegie Mellon and Rochester next Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
