Grove City competes at Pitt

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team closed the regular season Saturday by competing in the University of Pittsburgh's Western Pennsylvania Invitational at Trees Pool.

Grove City fell to Division II foes Clarion (126-102) and California (Pa.) (167-70). Grove City also dropped a 221.5-55.5 decision to Carnegie Mellon and a 251-28 verdict to Pitt Saturday.

Junior Keegan Reed (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) paced Grove City by taking fourth in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2 minutes, 16.93 seconds. She also took sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.16).

Freshman Megan Smith (Tyler, Texas/Kolbe) took fifth in the 200 free (1:59.74) and fifth in the 500 (5:18.63).

Grove City will host the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships as part of the College's James E. Longnecker Invitational February 12-15.
