Grove City tops Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team closed its Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet schedule Saturday with a 151-123 win at Bethany in the Hummel Field House natatorium.

Sophomore Megan Bilko (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) touched first in two races and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in both events. Bilko posted a time of 17 minutes, 37.22 seconds in the 1650 and also recorded a mark of 4:37.74 in the 400 individual medley.

Junior Liv Beckner (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) won the 200 free in 2:07.18 and then won the 500 in 5:36.94. Freshman Kristi Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) won the 200 butterfly in 2:21.97. Freshman Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) won the 50 free (26.46) and the 100 free (56.81).

Sophomore Ashley Meesuk (Millersville, Md./Calvary Baptist) won the 200 breaststroke (2:36.74) and touched first on an exhibition basis in the 200 IM (2:24.71). Meanwhile, freshman Bekah Wheat (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern) won the 200 backstroke in 2:20.75.

Riesmeyer, Jank, freshman Molly Gallant (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and freshman Amanda Hutzelmann (Milford, Pa./Homeschooled) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:58.83.

Grove City will host the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships as part of the College's James E. Longnecker Invitational February 12-15.
