Wolverines clash with CMU, Rochester

PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team battled host Carnegie Mellon and Rochester in a non-conference tri-meet Saturday afternoon at CMU. Carnegie Mellon earned a 225-75 decision over the Wolverines while Rochester earned a 194-106 victory.

Sophomore Megan Smith (Tyler, Texas/Kolbe) led Grove City by earning a pair of wins. Smith won the 500 free in 5 minutes, 17.44 seconds and also prevailed in the 1000 in 10:55.80.

Sophomore Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) took runner-up in the 100 free (55.23) and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 free (2:00.87). Senior Keegan Reed (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan) took third in the 200 individual medley (2:17.74) and finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.66).

Junior Carolyn Eckendorf (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) earned fourth in 1-meter diving with a score of 356.60.

Grove City (2-2) will host Wheeling Jesuit at 1 p.m. next Saturday.
