Grove City opens at Clarion

CLARION, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team opened its 2015-16 season Saturday by competing in the Clarion University Fall Classic. The Wolverines accumulated 145 team points while Clarion had 163 points.

Senior Megan Bilko (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) recorded four individual victories to help lead the Wolverines. Bilko won the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 58.39 seconds and then took first in the 100 free (56.03). Bilko then added wins in the 500 free (5:19.16) and 200 individual medley (2:16.77).

Junior Megan Smith (Tyler, Texas/Kolbe Academy) secured a pair of wins for Grove City. She won the 400 IM in 4:55.66 and then took the 200 breaststroke (2:36.09).

Junior Amanda Hutzelmann (Milford, Pa./Homeschooled) captured the 200 fly in 2:16.85 while freshman Jillian Breckenridge (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) took the 1650 in 19:48.47.

Grove City opens its dual meet schedule October 24 at Allegheny.
