Grove City tops Wheeling Jesuit

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team earned a 177-84 victory over visiting Wheeling Jesuit in non-conference action Saturday at James E. Longnecker Pool.

Senior Megan Bilko (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) helped lead the Wolverines by picking up three individual wins. She won the 1650 in 18 minutes, 12.44 seconds before taking the 500 in 5:18.52. Bilko then won the 200 individual medley in 2:17.56.

Junior Amanda Hutzelmann (Milford, Pa./Homeschooled) swept the butterfly for Grove City. She won the 100 fly in 1:00.03 and took the 200 in 2:14.21.

Junior Abby Jank (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) won the 200 free in 2:03.94 while freshman Megan Crutcher (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.69. Junior Molly Gallant (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) took the 50 free (24.96) while junior Kristi Riesmeyer (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) prevailed in the 200 backstroke (2:21.76).

Junior Megan Smith (Tyler, Texas/Kolbe) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.37.

Riesmeyer, Crutcher, Hutzelmann and Gallant opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1:54.40. Jank, Bilko, Crutcher and Gallant sealed the win by taking the 200 free relay in 1:42.29.

Grove City will visit Case Western next Saturday for a 1 p.m. tri-meet against Case and Gannon.
