Grove City 136, Baldwin-Wallace 95

January 30, 1999--Senior Jenny Clepper (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) and freshman Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) posted two gold-medal swims each as the Lady Wolverines closed their regular season with a 136-95 win over host Baldwin-Wallace College.

Clepper placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.92) and 200 butterfly (2:27.88), while Erdos sprinted to victories in the 50 (:25.34) and 100 freestyle (:55.56).  Her 100 time broke the old B-W pool record set in 1994.

Other Lady Wolverine individual winners included senior Kimberly Dewey (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) in the 1,000 freestyle (12:01.74) and freshman Erica Brandau (North Canton, OH/Hoover) in the 200 backstroke (2:23.53). 

Grove City added wins in both relays with freshman Courtney Heckman (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem), junior Brigitte Hanna (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell), senior Amy Valentine (Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) and sophomore Katie McCaslin (Lafayette Hill, PA/Phil-Mont Christian) taking the 400 medley relay (4:28.29) and Erdos, McCaslin, sophomore Jessica Pytlik (Glenshaw, PA/Shaler) and senior Britt Carpenter (North Wales, PA/North Penn) winning the 400 free relay (3:59.13).

The Lady Wolverines finished their 1998-99 slate with an overall record of 7-4 and will now prepare for the PAC Swimming and Diving Championships set for February 18-20 at Grove City.
