
GCC takes second at Cortland Invite
CORTLAND, NY, November 3, 2001--Grove City College won three events and placed second out of seven schools at the SUNY-Cortland Relay Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Wolverines touched first in the 300-yard breaststroke relay (3:45.84) with the team of freshman Jacquie Adlam (Ambler, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), sophomore Carolyn Shaddak (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and sophomore Peggy Whitbeck (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown). Senior Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown), freshman Karen Rodgers (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills), Shaddak and Whitbeck won the 400 freestyle relay (3:50.66). Sophomore Julie Pullin (Munroe Falls, OH/Hawken Upper) led off the winning 200 medley relay team (1:58.61) and was joined by Adlam, Whitbeck and Erdos.
Grove City trailed only host Cortland in the final team standings:
