Lady Wolverines Open In The 'Burgh Meet Results PITTSBURGH, PA, November 1, 1999--Despite a pair of first-place finishes from Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown), the Lady Wolverine swimming and diving team lost to Gannon University, 122-93, and host Carnegie Mellon University, 156-77, in the 1999-00 season opener Monday. Erdos defeated both Gannon and CMU in the 50-yard freestyle (:25.62) and the 100 freestyle (:55.80), while placing second against both opponents in the 500 free (5:34.05). Brigitte Hanna (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) touched ahead of Gannon in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.17) and finished second against both schools in the 200 IM (2:25.14). Linnea Volker (Yakima, WA/West Valley) and Erica Brandau (North Canton, OH/Hoover) placed 1-2 against Gannon in 100 backstroke (1:05.78, 1:05.81). |
