Lady Wolverines Win GCC Invite, PAC Crown

Freshman Sarah Erdos (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) used three national qualifying times to win MVP honors and lead the Lady Wolverines to their second straight Grove City College Invitational title and fourth consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference championship crown.

Erdos sprinted to victory in 50-yard freestyle (:24.55), the 100 free (53.80) and the 200 free (1:57.65), beating the respective NCAA provisional qualifying times of :24.89, :54.29 and 1:57.79.  Erdos looks to join the NCAA championship field March 11-13 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Grove City finished with 602.5 points, followed by Washington & Jefferson (430), Penn State Altoona (326.5), Misericordia (303), Bethany (202) and Frostburg State (106).   Lady Wolverine head coach Cathy Jacobs, in her 11th season, was named PAC Coach of the Year.

Junior Brigitte Hanna (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) struck gold in two events, including a first-place time in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.19) that equaled the NCAA provisional standard.  Hanna also won the 200 breast (2:31.36).

Seniors Britt Carpenter (North Wales, PA/North Penn) and Jenny Clepper (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) contributed championship swims in their final collegiate meet.   Carpenter won the 200 individual medley (2:19.91), while Clepper touched first in the 1650 free (18:49.02).

The Lady Wolverines also won all five championship relays.
