CLARION, PA, September 5, 2000--New season, same old story for the Lady
Wolverine tennis team.
Grove City downed Division II host Clarion, 9-0, on Tuesday, winning all nine matches and one exhibition in straight sets. The Lady Wolverines are coming off a school-record 12-win season, which included nine shutouts and five victories over NCAA Division II opponents.
Alyssa Bradford opened her third straight year at first singles, while sophomore Lisa Oriti followed her perfect 13-0 freshman season with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles. The 2000 lineup features one freshman, Allison Atwood, who opened her collegiate career with a tidy 6-1, 6-0 win at fourth singles.
