Rock edges GCC, 5-4
SLIPPERY ROCK, PA, October 9, 2001--In a final tune-up before the 2001 Presidents'
Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, the Lady Wolverine tennis team dropped a
narrow 5-4 decision at the home of NCAA Division II rival Slippery Rock University on
Tuesday. Grove City won four of the six singles matches, but failed to post a point
at doubles.
The Lady Wolverines closed the season with an overall record of 6-4. Three of the four losses came against Division II schools. They will seek their 15th consecutive PAC title this weekend, Oct. 12-13, at Thiel College in Greenville, PA.
