Grove City opens season with victory

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team opened the 2007 season Friday afternoon with a 7-2 victory over NCAA Division II member West Liberty State at the Grove City College Courts. Grove City won all three doubles matches, then claimed four of the six singles matches.

It is Grove City's first victory against the Hilltoppers since a 5-4 win Sept. 14, 2004. The Wolverines (1-0) have now won six straight matches dating back to last season.

Grove City will open Presidents' Athletic Conference play Tuesday afternoon at Chatham. The match begins at 4 p.m.
