Oberlin nips Grove City, 5-4

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team absorbed its first setback of the 2010 season Saturday afternoon as visiting Oberlin pulled out a 5-4 win over the Wolverines (9-1) in non-conference action.

Four of the six singles matches went three sets. Each team won two of the three-set bouts. Oberlin's 2-1 edge in doubles play proved pivotal. Grove City had been gunning for its first 10-0 start since 1987. The Wolverines also opened 2007 and 2008 by winning their first nine matches.

Grove City will host Chatham Monday at 4 p.m. in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.
