Grove City sweeps Thomas More in PAC opener
MONROEVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team opened its 2014 Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule with a 9-0 victory over Thomas More at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville on Saturday morning.
The Wolverines (1-2) dropped just four total games in sweeping the three doubles matches before earning wins in all six singles flights.
Freshman Janine Jones (Cleveland, Ohio/Nordonia) earned the first two victories of her collegiate career with wins at third singles and third doubles while senior Caroline McGuire (Shorewood, Wis./Dominican), junior Karolina Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) and senior Leah White (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) all won their singles matches without dropping a game.
Grove City's originally scheduled match against PAC-foe Thiel this afternoon has been postponed to a later date. The Wolverines will return to action when they host Bethany on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
