Wolverines top Geneva for fourth-straight win

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference action and 4-2 overall with an 8-1 road victory at Geneva on Thursday afternoon.

The Wolverines swept the doubles competition before dropping just eight total games in five singles victories.

Senior Caroline McGuire (Shorewood, Wis./Dominican) paired with junior Karolina Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) to blank the Golden Tornadoes (3-4) at first doubles before losing just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory at first singles.

Freshman Janine Jones (Cleveland, Ohio/Nordonia) would drop just one game in her third singles victory while Lagerquist, sophomore Linnea Peters (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) and senior Leah White (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) each dropped only two games to win their singles bouts.

Grove City returns to action on Tuesday when they visit PAC-foe Waynesburg for a 3:30 p.m. match.
